Michael Rommelse spent a decade on the ASP World Tour, but up until 1997 he had little success. Everything came into place at Sunset Beach that year when he won the World Cup of Surfing. With good results in the other Hawaiian events he won the 1997 Men’s Triple Crown of Surfing title.Photo below of a much young Rommelse around the mid 80s surfing in his amateur days on The Northern Beaches.
